Shahin Kalantari the founder
Shahin Kalantari is devoting his expertise in The Cosmetic Chemistry to develop Natural and Organic personal care in over 25 years. In 2008, he has introduced the first certified organic product line under the brand “eaurganic” in North America.
Shahin has been involved in different types of cosmetic formulation, from Skincare products such as; cleansers, creams, gels, serums, lotions, Haircare products such as; Shampoo, Conditioner, fixatives, treatment to Body care products such as; daily cleansing products to all kinds of treatment products up to color cosmetic products and sunblocks, before and after sun protection product, in all-natural, organic, sustainable, green and conventional cosmetics.
Having great knowledge and experience in regulatory affairs and being a member of the Organic Council of Ontario and the Organic Trade Association, helped to develop the first Canadian organic regulation for food and farmers products which came to act since July 2008.
He is recent Chair-elect and previous 2012 Chair and continuous active board member of the Canadian Society of Cosmetic Chemists since 2007. He has many presentations in different fields such as Certified organic cosmetics formulation national and worldwide, Cosmetic GMP, Cosmetic quality operating system and regulations, online Podcasts, blogs and publications regarding Organic and Natural cosmetics. He is a professor at Seneca College who teaches formulation labs in the cosmetic chemistry program.
Shahin’s passion to develop cosmetics began at an early age. His father was a world-renowned geologist, professor, and scientist with the World Health Organization and his mother was a well-respected artist who drew her artistic inspiration from nature.

Shahin attended one of the top universities in the world, where he studied chemistry. There, he learned about all the amazing things that can be accomplished through chemistry, and the wonder of different kinds of ingredients in a combination that can create an effective useful product. This led him to experience in this field himself.
At the same time, he was pursuing his passion by making natural and organic Skincare, Haircare, Body care products. Through his connection to the artistic and intellectual community, he made a name for himself as a developer of effective beauty products. Before he knew it, Shahin was up to his neck in orders for all kinds of Skincare, Haircare, Body care, creams, masks, and other color cosmetic products from artists and intellectuals. This expertise formed the foundation for his future business.
From 1996 when Shahin came to Canada to further his professional career in the cosmetic and personal care industry. He continued to make his own cosmetics for his family using Natural and effective ingredients.Using a small kettle in his own laboratory, he worked tirelessly on perfecting his formulations with the intention of starting his own business. His studies at university gave him the tools and his background gave him the passion to create eaurganic by d’Avicenna – one of the first Certified Organic skin and hair care producers in Canada.
His contributions did not end there. Shahin also convinced the members of Certech Registration that Canada needed its own standard for organic cosmetics after growing increasingly concerned with the number of synthetic ingredients in many so-called “organic” products. Thanks largely to his efforts, Certech Registration developed the IOS2008 standard – a standard specifically designed to ensure the legitimacy and quality of organic cosmetics and personal care products.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Shahin has become a world-renowned authority on green, sustainable chemistry in cosmetic science.

Working as a regulatory expert, Shahin helps the brand owners to register their products with different regulatory organization, to pursue their product certification in Organic, Natural, Gluten-free, Vegan, …fields. Meanwhile, he sets Quality operating systems, such as GMP in manufacturing plants for highest quality performances and to be approved by Health authorities like health Canada and FDA to produce Category 4 Drugs such as Sunblocks and Hand sanitizers in such plants.

Shahin is a part of the Cosmetic Program board who has worked with Seneca College Ontario, Canada, along with other SCC Ontario Board member to develop the cosmetic chemist certification program, in Seneca College since 2015 . Shahin has continued his cooperation with Seneca in course development and as cosmetic chemist formulation professor teaching since starting of this program.
His 30+ years of scientific study and lifetime of passion for Cosmetics can be felt in every drop of his cosmetic product formulation and development.
Now a day, Shahin is behind many national and international cosmetic product brands in cosmetic product formulation, cosmetic product development and registration and supporting manufacturing plants in product scale up, Quality operating systems, GMP and product manufacturing.
